Position Summary:  

Provide electrical and controls support for manufacturing operations.  Provides key role in troubleshooting activities.  Develops and delivers technical training to electrical resources within the department. Also provides support for capital projects of various size and complexities; manage, facilitate, and perform all phases of project management from inception, technical evaluation, resources planning, implementation and start-up of new and improved production processes in support of manufacturing operations.  

Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing advance troubleshooting support for manufacturing operations.
  • Providing expertise in the area of electrical and controls engineering and data acquisition and management
  • Generates electrical requirements and estimates for projects and equipment upgraded
  • Initiates and leads capital projects with electrical and controls emphasis with minimum supervision.
  • Leads, facilitates and directs activities of the project support groups (including contractors) assigned to projects
  • Organizes and deploys technical resources (in and outside of Mannington) to meet the objectives of the project and business
  • Broad cross-functional communication and coordination of project activities with internal and external project participants such as manufacturing, sales, contractors, vendors, etc to achieve project objectives.
  • Improving the skill set of the department’s electrical personnel by developing and delivering competency based training.

     

Requirements

Requirements:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering with 3 plus years of experience in a manufacturing environment; preferably floor covering industry.
  • Ability to layout and design “Distributed Control Systems”.
  • Proficient at programming and troubleshooting AB, GE, Modicon, Reliance, and Siemens PLC’s.
  • Experience with DC drives.
  • Ability to setup and support “Data Acquisition Systems”.
  • Well versed in Wonderware programming.
  • Possesses a strong knowledge of Ethernet, Data Highway, Modbus, Profibus and Devicenet networks.
  • Proficient in most Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls areas
  • Familiar with various continuous production processes and equipment
  • Proven hand-on experience with large and small project startups
  • Good technical communication with some negotiation skills
  • Highly computer literate: MS Office (Word, Excel), MS Project.  AutoCAD knowledge a plus
  • Strong Project Management skills
